Description from the seller
* Only One Available* Lion Seal Ring 450BC-50AD/ Ancient Masonic Builders-3rd Degree
I dint know the exact time frame for this ring- my collection contain rings from 450BC-50AD so will say this is the accurate time.
This ring was used by my family members for selling documents and private invitations for private ceremonies.
In Freemasonry, the lion is a profound symbol of strength, courage, genealogy, and the resurrection.
It appears most prominently in the Third Degree as the "Lion of the Tribe of Judah," representing both lineage and the raising of a candidate to a new life.
The lion features heavily across Masonic lore and symbolism:
The Lion of the Tribe of Judah: This represents the lineage of King Solomon and ultimately symbolizes resurrection. In ancient texts, this is tied to the concept of overcoming mortality and being raised to a "living life."
The Grip of the Lion's Paw: In the legend of the Third Degree (the Master Mason degree), this specific grip is used as a tool to raise the candidate symbolically from "death to life". It represents the literal and spiritual lifting of a fallen brother.
Connection to King Solomon: Because this symbol connects to the lineage of King Solomon and ancient cathedral builders (like the Comacines), it traces the historical roots of the fraternity back to sacred architecture.

All the objects included in this auction originate from my family’s private used collection, which has been passed down through generations of true Masons.
