Struck in the workshop of Christoffel Adolphi in Amsterdam.


Obverse: Armored knight on horseback facing right, swinging a sword; beneath the horse the crowned arms of Holland, all within an inner ring.
Legend: MON · NOV · ARG · CONFŒ · BELG · PROV · HOLLAND ❀
(Moneta nova argentea confoederatarum Belgiacarum provinciarum Hollandiae).

Reverse: Crowned coat of arms of the United Provinces, flanked on both sides by a crowned lion; below in a cartouche the city coat of arms of Amsterdam; the date at the top, all within a dotted inner circle.
Legend: CONCORDIA · RES · PARVÆ · CRESCUNT · 1673
(Concordia res parvae crescunt).

Struck in Amsterdam during the Franco-D Dutch War, when in the Rampjaar 1672 the mint was temporarily moved from Dordrecht to Amsterdam.
