Description from the seller
A special and very high-quality JVC receiver. Its design in 1978 was downright revolutionary and still looks modern in 2026. The superb build quality guarantees a music experience that remains very good nearly 50 years after production. The receiver has been inspected by a qualified technician and is fully functional. During this inspection, as a precaution, all tube lamps were replaced with new ones (including the blue sleeves).
With 2 x 65 W (at 4 ohms) the receiver has enough power to drive even demanding speakers. Preamp and power amp can be separated, a feature that only the top models in the JR series offer. The same applies to the combination of VU meters and tuning meters.
The JR-S300 MK2 has a well-known shortcoming: the collar that fixes the bearing of the slanted tuning wheel of the tuner is made of a metal alloy that can crumble over time. In this unit, the fairly modest aluminum collar that JVC installed under warranty at the time is present. This collar is indestructible and guarantees smooth turning and play-free tuning for the coming decades.
JR receivers are becoming increasingly scarce, and this is even more true for a nice example from the higher end. So a chance to acquire something special!
