This Bronze lamp is truly distinctive, with the possibility of also inserting a candle, a unique object. Inspired by the playful monkey figures popular in the 18th century, known as Singerie.
Dual purpose: a tall candle on one side and a small lamp with a shade on the other.

In the early 18th century in France there was a fashion for playful monkey figures, known as Singerie.
This piece, although antique, is probably from the 20th century, when the style was revived, but it captures the spirit of the earlier models. The figure, dressed in livery, holds a candlestick in one hand and a lamp in the other.
To set the sculpture in an upright position, the tail is moved to seek stability.
