Ancient sofa in Restoration style, carved in solid walnut. This piece, dating to the mid-19th century (around 1830-1840), is an excellent example of the woodworking art of the era.
The sofa is distinguished by its elegant and imposing sleigh-style structure, characterized by curved arms and finely carved details. The woodwork is particularly fine, with diamond motifs and floral scrolls adorning the arms and the front. The wood, in solid walnut, presents a beautiful dark patina and a well-preserved surface, testifying to its authenticity and the quality of the materials.
The structural conditions of the furniture are very good, solid and stable. The original upholstery in floral fabric, while showing signs of wear due to time, can be preserved to maintain the piece's authenticity, or can be easily replaced by an expert to suit a more modern taste.
This sofa is not just a piece of furniture, but a historical testament to the taste and craftsmanship of the French Restoration period.
