Description from the seller
Elegant Column Display Cabinet in Carved Walnut - Renaissance Style
Charming column display cabinet (stipo) crafted in solid walnut wood, finely worked. The piece stands out for its slender lines and rich carved decoration that runs along the uprights and base, recalling the taste of Italian Neo-Renaissance.
Description and Details
The structure features a large front glass door with glass sides, an ideal configuration to maximize internal brightness and showcase collectible objects, silverware, or rare books.
Carvings: The front uprights are decorated with foliate motifs and embossed volutes, executed with notable artisanal skill. The plinth-based base is enriched by a fluted frame that lends solidity and importance to the form.
Interior: The inner back panel is exposed wood, offering a warm and elegant contrast with the glass. There are lateral supports (mortises) for inserting shelves.
Hardware: Original lock with brass external escutcheon and included, functional antique key.
Condition
The piece presents in generally good condition, solid and structurally intact. As visible in the close-up photographs, it shows the usual signs of age that attest to its authenticity:
Slight surface scratches and small nicks on the upper edges (see photos 0019/0020).
A small superficial notch on the top part of the door frame.
Interior lacks glass shelves (easily orderable to measure according to your needs).
The inner bottom shows natural wood grain (photo 0017).
