Oval Table "Fratino" in Solid Wood - Italian Renaissance Style
Splendid center or refectory table, commonly called "Fratino", made in solid wood with a rich dark patina that enhances its historical character and timeless elegance. This piece stands out for its structural solidity and the refinement of the hand-carved details.
Key Features:
Top: Generous rectangular surface with molded edges. Under the edge runs a splendid carved frame with baquettes (petal or bean motif), typical of the late Renaissance style.
Base: Supported by two imposing vase/lyre-shaped legs, finely carved with acanthus leaf motifs and side volutes.
Central Traversal: The legs are connected by a robust horizontal crosspiece, enriched at the center with a carved scallop (shell) medallion and terminal scrolls, which ensures extreme stability and aesthetic prestige.
Feet: The table rests on dramatic lion paw (or beast) feet, symbolizing nobility and strength in period furniture.
Condition:
