Antique Iris Paris theatre binoculars with a nickel-plated metal frame and leather grip, dating to circa 1890–1920, tested and working, supplied with the original leather case with burgundy interior.

Antique French theater binoculars (theatre binoculars) from the renowned Iris brand, Paris, identifiable by the engraved name “IRIS PARIS” on both eyepieces. Probably dating from around 1890–1920, the flowering period of this brand.
Features:
• Nickel-plated metal frame with leather grip on the tubes
• Central focus ring between the barrels
• Supplied with original leather case with snap closure and burgundy interior lining
• Classic design, typical for use in theater and opera in the late 19th / early 20th century
Condition:
The lenses are clear and the focus ring operates smoothly.
The case shows signs of age and use (slight wear and a tear in the lining), matching the piece’s age. The binoculars themselves are in functional condition. See photos for a full impression of the current condition.
