This is a beautiful set of four antique Victorian balloon-back chairs in the Rococo Revival style. This particular style was extremely popular in the mid to late 19th century (circa 1850–1880).

Features of these chairs
The Balloon Back: The striking, flowing rounded backrest (from which the chair takes its name) is typical of the period. Inside the backrest there is an openwork, elegantly carved motif with graceful scrolls (scrolling detail).
Woodcarving: The top of the backrest is decorated with a fine, hand-carved floral or foliate motif.
Cabriole legs: The front legs are gracefully S-shaped curved (cabriole legs), which is characteristic of French Louis XV and Rococo influences of the time.
Wood type: Typically, this kind of high-quality furniture was made from solid mahogany in pristine condition.
