Mascot - Michelin - Cast iron

Tractor companies started selling agricultural tractors with rubber tyres in the 1930's. A company used this cast iron tractor figure, featuring the fat man, as part of their tractor tyre advertising campaign. The figure is handpainted in a vintage, scuffed style. The tractor is finished in green, with white and orange wheels. The fat man, seated at the wheel and happily waving, is painted in his customary white. The tractors in use today are unrecognisable when compared to what was used in the early 1900's - but it's nice to have an ornament like this to remind us of how things used to be.
