Description from the seller
It is a piece that breathes artisanal forge and historical fantasy, a scale Viking ship built entirely in wrought iron, with a wooden base that gives it stability and a ceremonial aura. It does not aim to reproduce a drakkar with archaeological accuracy, but rather to evoke its spirit: the idea of travel, of wind in the sail, of the totemic animal that guides the prow.
The hull is formed by twisted and curved wires that intertwine as if they were organic ribs. Along the sides, small metallic discs recall the lined shields of the Nordic warriors, insinuated rather than represented, which adds visual rhythm and a almost musical touch. The prow crowned with a dragon head, stylized and fierce, introduces that protective symbol so inherent to Viking iconography, reinterpreted here with a more sculptural than literal stroke.
The sail, built from spirals and wavy lines, seems to capture imagined wind. It is a very expressive, almost Baroque gesture, that turns the piece into a small dynamic sculpture. The oars, extended to the sides, complete the sense of movement, as if the ship were about to advance over an invisible surface.
The wooden base, sober and warm, acts as the perfect counterpoint to the dark metal. Its presence anchors the piece and makes it a decorative object with presence, ideal for a shelf, a study, or a space where one seeks a touch of historical adventure reinterpretation.
Overall, it is an object that combines craftsmanship, imagination, and a nod to Norse mythology, a piece that functions both as sculpture and as a decorative element with character.
Certified shipping and good packaging.
