Description from the seller
[Description]
"Hardcore": The legendary 1999 debut photobook from Japanese photographer Hiroko Matsushita—the origin point and a true monument in her career.
Picking up a camera at the age of 58, she documented over 300 of Japan's underground hardcore punk bands on the stage of "Koenji 20000V" throughout the 1990s. The raw, initial energy of approximately 90 bands, including icons like GAUZE and WARHEAD, is distilled into these pages.
Even after her passing in March 2025, the power of her photography has not faded. This body of work, which captures the raw heat of the live venue and the very vitality of both her subjects and herself, transcends time to continue conveying the soul of punk.
This book, which marked her starting point as the "Godmother of Koenji," is now out of print. It is a precious collector's item that rarely ever appears on the market.
[Condition]
Good condition. There is some rubbing on the cover and slight creasing on part of the back cover, but the pages are in good condition with no tears, writing, or stains.
