Description from the seller

Busycon Contrarium, also known as "Sinistrofulgur Sinistrum", is a species of spiraled sea snail, a shell of a marine mollusk. This species is particularly interesting for its unusual feature: the shell spiral develops counterclockwise, which is contrary to the norm, since most shells of marine mollusks develop clockwise.
Belonging to the family Busyconidae and described by Hollister, S.C. 1958
These shells are found mainly along the Atlantic coasts of North America, from New Jersey to Florida. Busycon contrarium is known for its large size and robust shell, often used in the past by some Native American populations for ornamental and ceremonial purposes.
The silver bath was carried out in a more decorative manner than the classic full coverage, in order to show the brilliance of the silver while preserving the colors and the internal veining of this splendid specimen.

Seller's Story

The Mineral Art Gallery offers minerals, fossils, shells and natural elements. Born in Italy in 2017, today she collaborates with international galleries and collectors, she is a direct importer of large minerals and naturalistic collectible elements; deals with the processing to insert them inside the living space. A section of the gallery was dedicated to the Wunderkammer, "chamber of wonders or cabinet of curiosities" in which Mirabilia elements are presented: naturalia and italiania, a union between "the present is the past". All lots are shipped via DHL Express and Fercam couriers, with insured parcel and tracking.
