Austin Healey Sprite MK2, 1962, red, 1098 cc engine delivering 58 hp, Dutch registered with service history and MOT valid until 2099-12-31.
Description from the seller
Only very rarely do you come across gems like this: a really nice Austin Healey Sprite MK2 from 1962. The car is now 64 years old (!). It has been restored and rebuilt from the ground up. A photo report is available, see the photos. A real eye-catcher!
The engine is a four-cylinder, 1098 cc, with 43 kW (=58 hp) that starts up immediately and pulls nicely; the car shifts, steers, and brakes well. Due to its age, the car is exempt from the APK (vehicle inspection) and also no road tax has to be paid. Small details such as the mounted bumper parts and wheels give it a rugged look. Truly a car that has been worked on with a lot of love; you can see it in every detail.
Documents:
The Austin Healey Sprite has Dutch registration; if desired, for an extra €50 the car can be supplied with an EU export document so that a foreign buyer can register the car easily.
Technical:
The engine was overhauled a few years ago; for example, a new battery has been installed, the existing components work fine, the tires and exhaust are like new.
Bodywork:
Overall many positives: around 2013 a new coat of paint was applied, which suits it very well; not perfect but very handsome. The floor has been replaced with a new floor, very neat and sound, and the soft top was replaced with a new one, also very attractive.
Interior:
The interior has been completely renewed; the seat upholstery is in superb condition, as are the mats and side panels, and the trunk lining is also very handsome. The dashboard looks very neat as well.
In short, a delightful classic with a lot of presence, at an affordable price.
Transport:
The car is located in Hengevelde, Netherlands and can be picked up here. Transport is also possible, with an additional €150 excluding VAT, within the Netherlands (except the Wadden Islands).
For foreign buyers:
The seller can arrange relatively cheap delivery of the car across the entire EU, which is no problem because the transport is handled by a professional carrier.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
