Description from the seller

Spodumene is a pyroxene (single-chain inosilicate) containing lithium and aluminum. The mineral, first identified in Sweden in 1800, originates within lithium-rich pegmatites and aplites. Its crystal structure forms in association with minerals such as quartz, albite, and beryl. The Kunzite variety, prized for its gem quality, owes its existence to the presence of manganese during crystallization.
