La Spinetta – Barbaresco Vürsù Vigneto Starderi 2017
La Spinetta's Barbaresco Starderi (Giorgio Rivetti) is a true heavyweight of the Langhe, sourced from a single historic cru in the municipality of Neive, with monumental vines aged between 55 and 65 years. The 2017 vintage, characterized by very low yields and a rigorously strict selection in the vineyard, has yielded a wine of extraordinary concentration, richness and unexpected grace, enhanced by the classic aging in French oak barriques.
Scores: JS 96 | RP 94 | VN 94
Color: Intense ruby red with garnet reflections.
Nose: Wide, dense and magnetic. Highlights ripe dark fruit (wild plum, dried blackberry), followed by bitter orange zest, notes of cocoa, sweet spices, tobacco and a suggestive mineral nuance of ash and undergrowth.
Palate: Full-bodied, robust and enveloping. The tannins are dense, ripe and smooth, supported by a beautiful acid freshness that carries the sip toward an incredibly long, flavorful and balsamic finish.
Storage and Serving: A collectible bottle entering its perfect drinking window now, but with potential for further aging in the cellar estimated up to 2035-2040. Perfect with large braised meat dishes, game, or blue-veined and aged cheeses.
The bottle is in impeccable condition (level, label, and capsule perfect) and has been stored lying down in a professional cellar at controlled temperature and humidity.
