French Art Deco chandelier from the 1930s–1940s, in glass and bronze, with a copper frame by Henri Petitot, five glass corollas with a honeycomb pattern and a central cut-glass prism ball, dimensions 60 cm wide by 60 cm high, in excellent condition with the original patina.
Description from the seller
French Art Deco chandelier, 1930s. A centerpiece of the interwar period: a modernist current with an airy line and sculptural balance.
The glasswork is signed Ezan France, a manufacturer renowned for its opalescent molded-pressed glass with delicate nuances. The five corollas feature an embossed honeycomb pattern, completed by a central glass ball cut in prism style. Depending on the lighting, the opalescence reveals bluish reflections or warmer tones, offering remarkable visual variations.
The mount, attributed to Henri Petitot, is made of copper with a medal patina. It adopts a stylistic hallmark of the art bronze tradition, with sixteen glass tubes inserted into the central shaft, concealing the metal structure and forming a decorative column.
The chandelier is in very good condition, with its original patina. A slight crack is present at the end of a single glass tube, completely invisible once the fixture is mounted.
The electrical system is period-appropriate and a original steel hook allows ceiling installation.
Bulbs: standard B22.
Dimensions: width 60 cm x height 60 cm; cup/drip pan: diameter 22 cm x height 10 cm.
