French portico clock – black-lacquered wooden case with brass accents – circa 1880-1900
Elegant French portico clock from the end of the 19th century, housed in a black lacquered wooden case with fine brass ornament mouldings and four columns. The clock has a white enamel dial with Roman numerals, gilded lunette and a visible pendulum movement.
The mechanical movement is equipped with an anchor escapement and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. At the back the movement is clearly visible. The clock is in a neat, well-maintained condition with normal signs of use appropriate to its age.
