Description from the seller
Gilded and Carved Louis XV Style Wide Mirror
Impressive mirror in the Louis XV style, made in the early 1900s. The structure features a rich frame in gilded wood, finely carved, characterized by elegant Rocaille motifs, volutes, and perforated decorations that flow harmoniously along the entire perimeter. The upper pediment is enhanced by an elaborate central shell and stylized foliage decor, typical of the eighteenth-century French taste reinterpreted in a later era.
The mirror is composed of three glass panels, with a wide central mirror flanked by two narrower side panels, creating a striking scenographic effect and a notable decorative presence. The contoured, richly worked base repeats the ornamental motifs of the upper cornice, providing balance and elegance to the entire composition.
Ideal for entrances, living rooms, formal dining rooms, or spaces furnished with classic taste, this mirror represents a furniture element of great charm and aesthetic impact.
