Terrestrial globe Dietrich Reimer / Andrews u. Steiner / 1939
The Globe has a superb patina and very vibrant colours. In excellent condition, it has no defects but normal signs of aging.
all parts are original and consists of 12 lithographed and coloured paper segments on papier-mâché, wood.
Dietrich Reimer Verlag (1852 - 1960)
Dietrich Reimer (1818-1899) founded his Berlin book publishing house in 1842 and took over the globe production of the Adami company in 1852.
After the death of the publishing house's founder, Ernst Vohsen (1853-1919) took over the company, which continued a comprehensive range of globes, including terrestrial and celestial globes, relief globes, and induction globes in various designs and languages.
Although these were never the focus of the publishing house's production, the Reimer publishing house was one of the largest globe producers of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
