Description from the seller
GENERAL
For the enthusiast, collector or investor we offer this beautiful and highly original Mercedes-Benz Unimog 406 Agricultural Convertible from 1969. It concerns a rare specimen in the original agricultural version with cab roof, executed in the authentic color scheme that today is still seldom encountered. This specific 406-series, produced between 1963 and 1989, is historically known as the backbone of the mid-range Unimog line and introduced at the time the powerful six-cylinder engines to meet the rising agricultural demand. Due to its original specification, low running hours and thorough cosmetic restoration this is a specimen that strongly differentiates itself from the current market. This Mercedes-Benz Unimog is therefore extremely suitable for agricultural use, events, collectors or as a solid investment.
BODY & PAINT
The cabin, the sheet metal and the bale bed are in 2024 fully sandblasted and professionally painted in a high-quality 2K paint. The chassis was also completely repainted at the time, leaving the vehicle in a very neat and well-maintained condition. The vehicle is also equipped with a new three-sided hydraulic bale bed and features the characteristic, original cabrio roof.
TECHNICAL
Technically the machine remains in fully original condition. The Unimog is equipped with the reliable and iconic Mercedes-Benz OM352 six-cylinder diesel engine, which has only 4,200 original running hours registered, equivalent to about 73,000 kilometers. Recently the machine has been fitted with a brand-new clutch and pressure plate. Moreover, in June 2026 the Unimog still comes with four completely new tires.
PICK-UP
The vehicle can be picked up in Kloosterhaar, the Netherlands. Optional transport of the Unimog is possible in further discussion.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
