Neoclassical silver monstrance. It rests on a richly chased pyramid base with Eucharistic motifs, including the Lamb of God, the Trinity, and ears of wheat associated with the vine. The piece bears the Coq hallmark, 1st title of the departments (1798-1809).
The silversmith’s hallmark corresponds to Joseph Convert, active in Lyon (vertical diamond with the initials J C, accompanied by a clover at the top and a dot at the point), used from 1798 to 1809 and then circa 1813 until before 1832.
