This large antique wooden mortar was carved from a single piece of wood, offering a timeworn, organic look with visible age and texture. Its primitive form and generous scale make it a striking accent for farmhouse, rustic, or eclectic spaces—perfect as sculptural decor or a display vessel.

CONDITION

In good condition with wear consistent with age and use .

This antique mortar with pestle was probably worked out of a cedar tribe at the mid of the 19thcentury . Unique surface with great patina. Height with pestle 69cm , without pestle 30cm .
height of the mortar : 30cm .
height of the pestle : 54cm .
depth of the opening of the mortar : 18cm

The patina of the wood is particularly beautiful and worn smooth with the passage of time ... this item is over 150 years old.

The character of this timber is beautiful and its surfaces are tactile and full of rustic character cracks and makers marks.
