Mortar and pestle - calcareous alabaster

Vintage mortar made of natural calcareous alabaster with its original turned wooden pestle, manufactured in Italy in the second half of the 20th century.

The piece features refined artisanal workmanship with four sculpted side grips and a pleasant cream-honey tone typical of calcareous alabaster. The stone shows a slight natural translucency and a smooth surface that highlights the veining and nuances characteristic of the material.

Complete with its original turned wooden pestle, also with a natural patina from use. The mortar is in good conservational condition with normal signs of age and use compatible with its era.
