Museum-quality antique bed sheet, new -never used- in ancient fabric of exquisite linen with substantial openwork embroidery. This cloth was handmade on an old loom. A fabric so precious, intended to endure for years and years, cool in summer and warm in winter, today it no longer exists. The sheet has a fold with delicate handmade openwork stitches, then enriched with rich cutwork embroidery.
This sheet comes from a grand dowry of the noble D'Aragona. The measurements are generous and—given the dense fabric—the piece can also be used as a magnificent bedspread.
Today, there is no embroiderer left who can do triple openwork embroidery of this type, due to its complexity and the length of a work that is priceless. It is a jewel of antique linens.
