Description from the seller
They are two patinated bronze and gilt candelabra from the first half of the 20th century, pieces that embody mature Art Deco in which geometry becomes quieter, more vertical, more architectural. Here the design does not seek exuberance, but the purity of the line and the contrast between materials and finishes.
The patinated bronze, with that deep, velvety green, provides an almost mineral presence, as if the pieces had been carved from an ancient block. On that matte surface the golden rings stand out, three on each shaft, functioning as rhythmic accents: small warm glints that break the verticality and underscore the elegance of the design. That dialogue between darkness and light is very characteristic of 1930s and 1940s Art Deco, where ornamentation is reduced to the essentials.
The circular bases, wide and solid, visually anchor the pieces and reinforce their sculptural character. The upper plates, also with clean lines, maintain the coherence of the set: nothing is superfluous, nothing distracts, everything responds to a logic of balance and proportion.
Overall, they are candelabra that combine geometry, rhythm, and contrast, perfect for interiors that seek pieces with a discreet but sophisticated presence, capable of adding a touch of historical modernity without imposing themselves.
