Description from the seller
Description:
In auction, a magnificent piece from the famous Mattel Dolls of the World line: the Ghanaian Barbie (Ghanaian Barbie), released in 1996 as a Collector Edition. This line celebrates global cultures through traditional costumes curated in minute detail.
The doll wears a traditional Ghanaian party dress in a wrap tunic style, made with a splendid reproduction of the Kente fabric, known for its geometric patterns rich in bright colors (yellow, green, red and black). On the head she wears the typical coordinating tied turban (duku). The look is enhanced by gold jewelry echoing the country’s historic artisanal wealth: large hoop earrings, a bracelet, and a pendant necklace with a flat medallion.
