Antique decorative plate by Minton & Co., England, designed by William Stephen Coleman.
The plate belongs to the well-known Naturalist Series from the second half of the 19th century, approx. 1869–1870. Typical for this series is the nature-inspired decoration with floral elements and insect motifs in the style of the Victorian Aesthetic Movement.
On the back there is the Minton mark as well as the red signature/design mark “W. S. Coleman Inv. & Del.”.
The plate is very likely made of English earthenware / Earthenware and originates from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, one of the most important centers of English ceramic production.
A very decorative collectible for lovers of Minton, Victorian ceramics and English art ceramics of the 19th century.
Condition:
Very good age-appropriate condition. Age and wear marks may be present. Please see the photos as part of the description.
