richard ginori - Gio Ponti, attr. - Table service (7) - Ceramic - Salad set

This set consists of vintage ceramic tableware featuring the famous "Bird on Branch" motif, designed by the renowned Italian architect and designer Giò Ponti for the Richard Ginori manufactory. The pieces date from the period between the 1930s and 1940s, during his artistic direction at the San Cristoforo plant in Milan. It is a splendid expression of Italian Art Deco style. The cream-colored finish is complemented by a green border and a stylized, minimalist silhouette of a small bird perched on a twig.

Lot composition:
1 large oval serving platter
6 half-moon plates (also called salad plates), historically intended to accompany the main plates and optimize space at the table.

Good condition with normal signs of wear; note a small chip on one half-moon, see photo.
