Description from the seller
Black Lacquered Bamboo Folding Tray Table, 1970s–1980s
Manufacturer and origin: European market production, with design influence from Asian bamboo furniture and mid-century folding campaign-style utility furniture.
Year of production: 1970s–1980s.
Style and use: Black lacquered bamboo folding tray table with removable rectangular tray top, raised gallery rail, slatted bamboo surface, rounded bamboo frame, wrapped corner detailing and X-form folding base. Suitable as a side table, serving tray table, drinks table or decorative interior accent.
Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related surface marks, light lacquer wear, small scuffs and visible signs of use on the tray surface and bamboo frame. The folding base and tray structure appear usable and stable. The item will be shipped in the condition shown in the photos, so please review all photos carefully before bidding.
Value basis: The value is supported by its practical folding construction, black lacquer finish, decorative bamboo corner work and usable tray-table format. The removable tray and folding base make it more versatile than a fixed side table, which is attractive for interior buyers and collectors of bamboo and rattan furniture.
Production context: This type of lacquered bamboo furniture reflects the 1970s–1980s European taste for natural materials, Asian-inspired forms and lightweight folding furniture used in living rooms, conservatories and informal entertaining spaces.
Dimensions: H 56 cm x W 80 cm x D 56.5 cm.
