History:
At Eurailspeed in Berlin in late October 1998 the third ICE generation, the ICE 3, was presented to the public for the first time. With a whole series of technological refinements the new ICE was introduced and will contribute to further shortening travel times. With the ICE 3 the diversity of the Deutsche Bahn AG vehicles on rails becomes a very striking sight. The most noticeable technical changes are, in any case, the drive concept. Until now with the ICE 1 and ICE 2 the propulsion was in the bogies, with the new generation of the ICE 3 the entire propulsion technology is distributed under the car bodies. The ICE 3 is generally deployed as an eight-car unit. Some trains are built for the DC system of Deutsche Bahn AG and are designated series 403. Another part is used as a four-system train in international traffic. The trains designated as series 406 are predominantly intended for the international train service. The interior also stands out for its efficient and appealing ambience. Particularly attractive is the passenger area directly behind the driver, which, through a glass wall, offers a direct view into the cockpit and a view of the open track.
Tested on (digital) functions.
Almost new. Complete in original packaging with all booklets.
See the photos for an impression; these are part of the description.
