Meteorite, Natural Art Design in Polychrome Jasper Vortex – Flame Sculpture, from Madagascar, height 218 mm, width 100 mm, depth 75 mm, weight 2139 g.
Description from the seller
Carved from a single block of Madagascar multicolored jasper, this flame-shaped vortex seems to carry the movement of the Earth into the polished edges. The surfaces, polished until almost liquid, alternate smoky transparencies with solid swaths of red, ochre, and brown: a natural mosaic that tells the slow sedimentation of oxides, silicas, and minerals distributed in irregular layers, then reunited into a single mineral architecture. The ascending spiral shape is not merely an aesthetic choice: it amplifies the intrinsic nature of the multicolored jasper, a mineral known for its rooted energy and, at the same time, for its ability to “open” the gaze to broader planes. The tight curves, the edges, the inclined planes, and the shallow cavities seem to follow a precise direction: from bottom to top, like a flame that tightens, twists and then rises.
