Description from the seller
Giovanni Gastel – “Gastel for Women” – Edimoda, Milan, 1991 – Photographic catalog of the exhibition + autograph dedication
Rare photographic volume dedicated to the work of the celebrated Italian fashion photographer Giovanni Gastel, published by Edimoda in September 1991 on the occasion of the exhibition “Gastel for Women” held in Milan, on Via della Spiga. The volume gathers a selection of images created for the magazines Donna, Donna e Bambini and Mondo Uomo between 1982 and 1991, a pivotal period for the international rise of Italian fashion photography.
Particularly interesting is the presence of a handwritten autograph dedication applied to the first blank page.
A work belonging to Giovanni Gastel’s most sought-after editorial output, a key figure in Italian fashion photography of the Eighties and Nineties. The volume documents the period of collaboration with Edimoda and the magazines led by Flavio Lucchini and Gisella Borioli, central figures in the international diffusion of Made in Italy.
