Harvey Guzzini Sirio table lamp, mid‑century modern, in white and smoked acrylic hemispheres with chrome fittings, made in Italy in the 1960s, in good used condition and in working order, dimensions H 24 cm x W 25 cm x D 15 cm with a 180 cm cord, requires an E14 bulb.
Description from the seller
The iconic Sirio table lamps, designed by Sergio Brazzoli and Ermanno Lampa for Guzzini in the 1970s, are notable examples of modern and space-age mid-century design. These lamps are characterized by a distinctive structure consisting of two acrylic hemispheres – one smoked and the other white – held together by chrome brackets, creating an elegant and contemporary look. The design allows a thin strip of light to radiate between the two halves, accentuating their aesthetic charm. These lamp shades not only provide a soft, diffused light that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, but also showcase the designers' mastery in using contemporary materials. Acrylic was at the time an avant-garde choice, enabling a smooth, glossy finish and a lightweight yet sturdy structure.
The dome-shaped lampshade ensures optimal light distribution, making the lamps ideal for a variety of spaces, including living rooms, bedrooms, and offices, and allowing light to be directed exactly where needed. The lamps can also be wall-mounted and used as sconces. In this way, they can serve as elegant bedside lamps without taking up space.
The lamps are in perfect vintage condition, with minimal signs of use, in keeping with their age.
