Description from the seller
A set of 5 green Art Deco siphons from the Eastern Bloc.
Sold strictly as a decorative/collectible display piece.
From left to right:
1. Beautiful mid-century vintage emerald green glass seltzer bottle / soda siphon, manufactured in Czechoslovakia in 1951. Czechoslovakia (Stamped with factory code "KTT/TT" and year "51" on the base). Vibrant emerald green glass and cream/beige molded composite/bakelite siphon head. Good vintage condition, the bakelite ring is cracked (see images).
2. An original Soviet-era soda siphon (seltzer bottle) features a beautiful aquamarine-green thick glass body encased in its iconic protective woven wire mesh sleeve. The heavy-cast metal dispensing head features a historic Cyrillic factory stamp reading «ЮМЕОПТ» (Yumeopt / Southern Metal Wholesale) with «СИФОН» (Siphon) underneath, dating this piece back to the 1950s–1970s.
The glass body is completely intact with no cracks. The protective metal wire netting is in great shape with excellent structural integrity. The only notable flaw is that the small thumb-trigger handle cover is partially missing.
3. Highly collectible antique green glass seltzer bottle originating from the interwar period in Hungary. This piece features incredible historical engravings on both sides of the heavy pewter siphon head: Side 1 (Local Bottler): Engraved with "Egri Kereskedők Artézia Szikvízgyára" (Eger Merchants' Artesian Soda Water Factory) Side 2 (Manufacturer): Engraved with "Süss és Friedmann, Budapest", a premier early 20th-century Hungarian industrial foundry known for crafting high-quality beverage hardware.
4. An Art Deco soda siphon complete with Sparklets holder, manufactured by Sparklets Limited in England, dating approximately between 1930 and 1955. 33.5cm high. In good vintage condition, some oxidation on the wire mesh.
5. A rare, oversized 1,5/2-liter vintage seltzer bottle. 100% Authentic Romanian Heritage; a heavy, emerald-green glass body complete with its original protective wire mesh cage. The base is embossed with the letters "SP" inside a hexagon which stands for Sticla Păcurari, which was the official state-designated name for the specialized industrial glassworks facility in the region. The cast-metal dispensing head is stamped with its authentic regional industrial mark (UMZ / ЮМЗ), completing a fully matching, country-accurate historical assembly.
The bottle is in good vintage condition with an authentic aged patina on the wire mesh and vibrant, crack-free green glass. The only notable flaw is that the white plastic thumb hinge lever has been glued/stabilized and has a small crack on the top.
The yellow siphon in the last picture does not come with the set!
