Large Collection of Hamburg State Bonds – 88 Certificates – Germany, 1919
A substantial collection of 88 original German government bond certificates issued by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg in 1919.
These historic certificates are part of the Hamburgische Staatsanleihe von 1919 (Hamburg State Loan of 1919) and represent an important period in German financial history following the end of the First World War and the beginning of the Weimar Republic.
Each certificate carries a denomination of 20,000 Mark with an interest rate of 4½%, and features highly decorative engraved borders, the Hamburg coat of arms, original signatures and attractive period typography.
