Description from the seller
Lotto Presentation:
Elegant twin-body trumeau cabinet, made in Italy in the mid-20th century in perfect Louis XV (Barocchetto) style. The piece features a solid walnut structure, fully veneered and enriched with refined maple and fruitwood inlays.
Structure Analysis:
Upper Body (Alzata): Characterized by a shaped and broken pediment. The two doors feature central panels inlaid with motifs of a
"galante scene" (figures in bucolic landscapes) surrounded by floral frames. Inside there are curved shelves.
Central Body (Ribalta): The drop-leaf door, also richly inlaid with a central medallion, opens to reveal a curved recess with four small drawers and a central compartment. The desk surface is wide and functional.
Lower Body (Base): Follows the wavy line of the structure with three large front drawers. The base ends with sabre legs typical of the eighteenth-century style.
Technical Details and Condition:
Hardware: Original bronze cast and chased handles and escutcheons with rocailles motifs.
Conservation Status: The piece presents excellent vintage condition. The structure is solid. There are light and normal signs of wear on the polish and small superficial scratches consistent with age (visible in close-up photos), which do not compromise its aesthetic value but attest to the period's authenticity.
Keys: One functional key present.
