Description from the seller

Exceptional cruet (old water-dispensers for wine) from the late 19th century. The upper mounting is richly chased in solid 800 fineness silver, presenting a profuse neobaroque decoration with rococo motifs, vegetal volutes, high-relief flowers, and an ergonomic handle of great elegance. The hinged cap finishes with an intricate decorative knop.
At the front of the mount, a central cartouche stands out with a beautifully intertwined monogram finely hand-engraved, topped by a crown of nobility.
The lower body is made of high-quality transparent glass, blown and hand-cut with a dynamic helical design of continuous spiral channels that stylizes the jug’s silhouette and multiplies the flashes of light.
Marks and Grooves (Guarantee of Authenticity)
The piece is fully identified and checked on the silver neck with the following stamped marks:
Signature of the famous court goldsmith: "E. MARCUS" (Eugen Marcus, Berlin)
Catalog model number of the casting: "10874" (Corresponding to Hugo Schaper’s historic design for the prestigious Koch & Bergfeld firm)
Metal purity assay mark: "800"
German national marks of the era: Symbols of the crescent moon and the Imperial Crown (Halbmond und Krone).
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The crystal is flawless: completely intact, with no chips, cracks, nicks, or internal clouding, retaining its original clarity. The silver mount preserves a magnificent patina that highlights the depth of the reliefs, with a hinge mechanism that is firm and in perfect working order.
A display piece ready for collection or immediate use on a high-end table.
