Akai - AA-1020 Solid state stereo receiver

Offered is a beautiful and rare appearance from the golden age of hi-fi: the Akai AA-1020 stereo receiver in the sought-after DB version. While most models are finished in the standard silver, this variant stands out with its atmospheric brown/bronze anodized front panel, deep-black knobs, and the iconic warm scale illumination. Combined with the original wooden housing (woodcase) this gives the unit a high-end, vintage look that fits perfectly in any interior.

The AA-1020 is known for its sturdy Japanese build quality and delivers the typical warm and powerful hi-fi sound of the 70s. With a steady power of 2 x 20 watts at 8 ohms it easily drives most loudspeakers. The receiver features extensive input options, including an excellent phono stage for a turntable, two tape inputs, and an AUX input for streaming modern audio. There is also the possibility to connect two pairs of loudspeakers (A/B).

The unit is in good optical (minor signs of use) and technical condition (see photos for details). All functions, pots, and switches operate smoothly and crack-free. An absolute eye-catcher and a serious upgrade for the vintage audiophile or Akai collector.

The audio equipment we offer is mostly vintage equipment 40 years old or older. Each unit is carefully checked by us, professionally cleaned and extensively tested before being offered for sale.

Despite this careful check, it may occur that a defect arises upon receipt or after a period of time. Due to the age of the equipment, such malfunctions can occur unexpectedly and are unfortunately beyond our control.

For that reason we cannot give a warranty on vintage equipment. We understand this can be annoying and we consider it important to be transparent and honest about it. Of course we do our utmost to deliver every unit in as good a condition as possible.

We pack our products very carefully so that the chance of transport damage is small.

We also take out transport insurance for every shipment.
