Description from the seller

Leica M3 SS (Safari style finish)
Serial number: 1008752 (M3 models with a serial number in the million range represent the pinnacle of build quality.)

This aesthetic restoration was carried out by a professional lacquer specialist. The process involved meticulously stripping the original chrome from each component, followed by applying several coats of paint (in homage to the limited edition “Safari”). The finish consists of a high-end baked enamel coating, applied in four thin coats to ensure exceptional durability as well as increased resistance to chipping and peeling.
This meticulous artisanal process ensures great longevity while preventing oxidation and paint deterioration. The shiny Leica lacquer finish is renowned for its complexity and the demanding standards it imposes; it gives the camera a unique and striking aesthetic. With prolonged use, the body will gradually develop a “brassing” effect (exposure of the underlying metal), creating a rich and beautiful patina that embodies the classic charm of a Leica that has lived.
The camera is in excellent condition and fully functional, with an impeccable finish. All components have been tested; the body is in very good condition and the shutter speeds are precise. The rangefinder works properly and the shutter curtains are perfectly flat and in excellent condition. The viewfinder has undergone a professional overhaul: it is bright and sharp, enabling rapid and precise focusing thanks to the yellow rangefinder patch.

Note: all functions will undergo rigorous testing before shipment, and a detailed report on the camera’s condition will be provided.
