Sansui AU-D907F Extra — Integrated DC Amplifier (Serial No. 821100777, circa 1982)
The AU-D907F Extra stands at the pinnacle of Sansui's legendary "D" series integrated amplifiers, representing the culmination of the brand's Super Feedforward & DC design philosophy. Introduced in the early 1980s, this amplifier was engineered to deliver uncompromising audio performance, combining an ultra-low-distortion DC amplifier topology with Sansui's proprietary Super Feedforward circuit — a design that suppressed even-order harmonic distortion to vanishingly low levels.
The front panel, finished in elegant matte black with distinctive wood-grain side panels, features a full complement of controls: separate Treble and Bass tone controls, a 10kHz/20kHz filter section, a –20dB muting switch, precision volume and balance knobs, and a large illuminated input selector offering Phono-1 (MM/MC), Phono-2 (MM/MC), Tuner, and AUX inputs. An MC transformer switch and MC cartridge impedance selector (Low/High) are provided for moving-coil cartridge compatibility. Two independent tape loops (Tape-1 and Tape-2) with a versatile Rec Selector allow complex dubbing configurations.
The rear panel, finished in Sansui's signature copper-toned steel, provides dual speaker system outputs (System-A and System-B, 4–16Ω), a turntable ground terminal, and switched/unswitched AC convenience outlets (100V, 50/60Hz). The unit operates on 100V AC at 50/60Hz with a rated power consumption of 320W.
Internally, the amplifier employs a massive toroidal-type power transformer and large-capacity filter capacitors, the hallmarks of the D907F Extra's authoritative power delivery. The top cover features prominent ventilation slots for efficient heat dissipation.
