Description from the seller
A rare box camera, model Murer's Express Newness, produced in Europe in the early 1900s. This iconic detective-type photographic device is presented in the classic vertical format with a dark textured finish and a solid, compact body. On the front, the central lens stands out, enclosed in its characteristic metal barrel with manual adjustments and the inscription carved in bas-relief on the lower part of the camera body. The device is equipped with a metal side crank for operating the internal film advance mechanism and a top metal handle for field transport. The item is accompanied by its original vintage-era case made of sturdy brown leather with evident and fascinating signs of wear that attest to its authenticity and history. The case features an adjustable strap and a front closure with a leather pass-through. The coordinated lens cap is also included. The lot shows a vintage patina of great effect, ideal for display in a shop window or to enrich a collection of antique optical instruments. The overall cosmetic condition is good, albeit with the usual age-related defects."
