Candlestick (2) - Gilt brass - Empire style

Beautiful and richly worked pair of veneered brass candlesticks, chased and richly decorated in Empire style.
There is extensive relief work on all parts, from the base with ornaments depicting leaves and fruit, to the shaft and to the finial.
They are extremely shiny, yet retain a patina of time and signs of lived history.
They are presented in excellent conservation condition with their original antique babouches.
Note the rich foliate ornamentation beneath the finial.
These beautiful candlesticks date back to the second half of the 19th century and have nothing to envy in the remainder of the bronze collection due to their uniqueness.
