Secrétaire à abattant - Wood

Two‑part secretaire desk in walnut/palisander wood with rich marquetry inlays in a motif of a vase with flowers and scrolls. Wavy carved moulding on the upper cornice with the original lock.

The top part features a hinged door that becomes a spacious writing surface. Its interior includes an original mirrored back that adds depth and enhances its decorative value.

The lower part has a practical integrated bottle rack and a compartment with a shelf for storage, making it as functional as it is elegant.

Neoclassical/Empire style, probably the second half of the 19th century or the early 20th.

Preserves the original patina.

The measurements are 128 cm high, 82.5 cm wide, and 41.5 cm deep.

Has not been restored; it is the original piece.

Shows some signs of use on the interior base of the lower compartment.
