Tchubi: Khal Mohammadi and Afghan Aqche are two of the most popular types of Afghan rugs. Khal Mohammadi rugs are hand-knotted by the Turkmen of northern Afghanistan. Their main colors are deep red tones in various shades. The motifs are the göl (a motif resembling an elephant’s foot) and the octagon (an eight-sided figure), often accompanied by stylized flowers in dark blue, ochre and beige tones. Afghan rugs are hand-knotted by Turkmen from the central and northern Afghanistan.
