Description
Prestigious 17-piece table service in French porcelain from the famous Paul Lanternier house (P.L).
This service stands out for its classic, timeless refinement: the border features a raised decor with fine geometric fluting, enhanced by a double stripe consisting of a Bordeaux trim and a delicate frieze of arabesques and volutes in gold leaf.
Lot composition (17 pieces):
• 15 flat plates: Diameter 24 cm
• 1 oval serving dish: 37 cm × 23.5 cm
• 1 round serving dish: Diameter 29.8 cm
Technical characteristics & Marking
• Material: Haute Porcelaine de France, renowned for its perfect whiteness, translucency and high resistance.
• Reversed stamp: Each piece bears the golden guarantee stamp of the manufacturer "BERRY HAUTE PORCELAINE – MADE IN FRANCE", associated with the crowned tricolor shield bearing the initials "P.L" for Paul Lanternier.
• The presence of its iconic P.L shield paired with the modern mention "Berry Haute Porcelaine" indicates that this is a late-model or reissue of a major Lanternier classic by the Berry porcelain group, which held the brand rights at the time.
Condition
Excellent overall condition, close to new. The porcelain retains its original superb brilliance. The decorations are remarkably preserved: the Bordeaux trims are intact and the gold leaf decoration shows very little wear over time.
