Description from the seller
Exquisite 24-piece dessert and fruit cutlery set in solid 800 silver for 12 people, from the glorious era of Austrian Art Deco. The set is distinguished by its elegant, geometrically stepped lines at the end of the handles – a timeless classic of Viennese design from the interwar period.
The set is complete and consists of:
12 dessert/fruit forks (length: approx. 14.5 cm | total weight: 360 g
12 dessert/fruit knives (length: approx. 17.5 cm | total weight: 370 g gross with steel blades)
Special detail / Monogram: The handles of all cutlery pieces are artistically engraved on the front with an elegant, period-typical monogram – the letter “S” – underscoring the noble origin and the individual craftsmanship character of the set.
Punch marks & expertise:
All pieces are marked multiple times and without gaps, clearly documenting the historical origin.
1. Manufacturer: Wiener Silber Manufactur (Historical factory mark: stylized goblet/Roman glass on all pieces).
2. Official Vienna “Tukan-Punze” (with the letter “W” for Wien and the numeral “4”): Guarantees state inspection and authenticity of the 800-silver as well as the production period between 1922 and 1939.
3. Fineness stamp “800”: Located on both the forks and the knife blades.
4. Viennese Master Punch: Imprinted stylized goblet/hourglass symbol of the silversmiths.
The cutlery is in a very good, well-maintained condition with age-related, minimal surface scratches (patina) that underscore the authentic character. No deep scratches, dents, or damages. The blades fit firmly in the blades’ fittings. The set is delivered in the pictured, precisely fitting original red-lined display case.
