Description from the seller
GENERAL
For sale is an exceptional Citroën CX 25 GTi Turbo from 1985 with a mileage of about 190,000 kilometers. Originally presented in 1974 as the successor to the legendary DS, the Citroën CX made its mark in automotive history thanks to the incredibly aerodynamic body designed by Robert Opron and the revolutionary, servo-assisted DIRAVI steering system that automatically returns to the straight-ahead position. This particular example is an incredibly rare and sought-after transitional version produced at the turn of the generations. The car already features the newer second-series body after the facelift, characterized by plastic bumpers instead of steel, but under the hood lies the iconic Turbo 1 engine from the first series. It is a 2.5-liter engine without an intercooler, delivering 168 HP, allowing a top speed of around 220 km/h and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of about 8 seconds. The uniqueness of this car is underscored by the fact that the annual production of the GTi Turbo in 1985 was only about 1,500 units. The presented car is finished in the original gray-blue metallic coat called Gris Neptune.
BODYWORK AND PAINT
The second-series body after the facelift is in very good sheet metal condition, and its chassis has been fully preserved. There are no active rust spots, areas requiring welding, or other places that would qualify for urgent bodywork. The metallic Gris Neptune paint presents well, though it should be noted that the car is not described as a concours-grade or factory-new exemplar. All exterior elements, including glass, lights, and all body details, are complete and kept in proper condition.
MECHANICAL CONDITION
The car is fully functional, road-ready, and prepared for driving thanks to a very extensive range of service work. Repairs and modifications were carried out by a renowned CX specialist, Tomasz Habrycha from TS Garage. As part of the works, head gasket regeneration, installation of new valve lifters, resealing and painting of the engine, adjustment of the fuel injection system, and installation of a new radiator were performed. The hydraulic system, famous for its use in this model, was serviced by regenerating the spheres and making completely new hydraulic hoses from durable bimetal. Additionally, a new clutch and new brake discs were installed, the undercarriage was serviced, and necessary electrical work was completed. The engine runs correctly and starts without issue. Currently, only minor seepage has been noted, but no active fluid leaks have been identified. The only known mechanical defect requiring further diagnostics or repair is a glowing ABS warning light.
INTERIOR
The interior of the vehicle is complete and fully consistent with the original, sporty character of the GTi Turbo version. The condition of the seats, upholstery, dashboard, door panels, and other trim elements should be assessed individually based on the photo gallery or by personal viewing of the vehicle. The cabin electrical system has been adjusted and serviced, and new vents and covers for the onboard computer will be included with the car, intended for self-assembly or final refinement by the new owner.
DOCUMENTATION
The vehicle has full and regulated documentation. It comes with a Polish registration certificate with an unlimited technical inspection, confirming its status as a historic vehicle, as well as Polish yellow historic license plates.
COLLECTION
The pickup location for the purchased Citroën CX is the town of Wiktorów in Poland.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
