Description from the seller
Jaguar XJ-S 5.3 V12 – 1990
Only 46,108 miles | Diamond Blue
GENERAL:
This Jaguar XJ-S 5.3 V12 from 1990 has only 46,108 miles on the clock and is finished in the stylish Diamond Blue color. The car is part of a private collection and has been owned by the same owner for almost 10 years. During that period, the car has been driven minimally.
BODYWORK & PAINT:
The paint is in generally good condition. As far as can be assessed, it is largely the original paint, with the exception of the hood. There are light signs of use appropriate for its age, including a few minor paint damages at the door and rear quarter panel, presumably caused by doors opening onto parking spots.
The chrome trim and rubber seals are in good condition. Because the car has mostly been stored indoors, there is less rust than is typical on many European Jaguars. The wheels show corrosion.
MECHANICAL:
The V12 engine starts, runs, and shifts well, both cold and warm. Given the low mileage, among other things the spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and fuel filter have already been replaced, contributing to a reliable start even after longer periods of inactivity. Coolant and oil have already been changed. No fluid leaks have been observed; the engine is dry.
The fuel lines to the injectors have been replaced. The convertible top has undergone maintenance in 2017, including an oil service and a new canvas top. The car sits on four tires with nearly new tread.
The car has a Dutch license plate and is road-legal (APK) until 6 April 2026. The Jaguar is technically inspected every two years (APK). Maintenance history is known and invoices are available.
INTERIOR:
The interior is in neat, original condition for its age. The dashboard is crack-free. The headlining of the convertible top is still original. The wood trim shows slight aging of the lacquer, appropriate for a car of this age.
HISTORY:
The car originally came from the United States and was last registered there with an odometer reading of 40,208 miles. The car was imported with a “clean title.” The mileage is verifiable via an American vehicle history report.
The Jaguar is now owned by the same owner for almost 10 years. Invoices for performed maintenance are available.
OTHER INFORMATION:
The car has a Dutch license plate with a valid APK, which makes registration in other countries easier (please check the applicable regulations in your country).
The Jaguar can be viewed in Maarssen, the Netherlands. It is advisable to view the car in advance to avoid disappointment.
The car is 36 years old; please take this into account. The photos are an integral part of the description.
Since the car comes from a private collection and has seen little use, a small maintenance service is recommended before intensive use.
If the car is not collected within two weeks after the end of the auction, storage costs will be charged.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
