Description from the seller
OVERVIEW/CONDITIONS
Splendid example of a Jaguar XJS 3.6 manual in the rare red color with tobacco interior.
The car presents externally very well. It has no scratches or marks to note. The paintwork is solid and shiny and, except for a small cut near the indicator on the right-front fender, the entire exterior is in excellent condition. There is no rust and, from an inspection, no accidents involving the car. No repairs or repainted parts are reported.
The bumpers are very solid as are the tires mounted on them. The lighting is functioning well, both front and rear. All seals are sound and in good condition. The glazing, original to the car, works without defects. Underneath the car it appears healthy with very good floors and total absence of rust.
Technically the car has shown no problems of any kind. The engine starts well even when cold, the car brakes well and the manual gearbox has no issues engaging gears and works smoothly. The clutch is still in good condition as are the tires. The car has no leaks and the engine holds idle well. We carried out a check of all fluids, while the oil and engine oil were replaced about 2,000 km ago. However, a further and more thorough check-up before road registration and a general service are recommended.
Inside the leather dominates. The upholstery is truly well preserved, the seats are comfortable and enveloping, the woods and plastics are sound and there are no rips or damages to report. The dashboard is sound with no sign of aging, the carpeting is in excellent condition and a nice brown color, the door panels are sound both in paintwork and in the interior upholstery with all leather coverings completely intact and without rips. From the door cuts one can infer the excellent preservation state of the vehicle, as do the door-sill trim pieces which are sound and one even still retains the cellophane from when it left the dealer.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
